The stage designs are superb, too, as they make playing in closed-off caves and out in the open above a fiery lava pit equally enjoyable. ![]() It's also neat how enemies leave splatters around the level whenever you defeat them. □Īnother aspect that I enjoy about SpiderHeck is its neon visuals which really pop and make gameplay unambiguous. Thankfully, the twin-stick controls are tight, responsive, and rewarding to master. ![]() Whether you're activating and throwing bombs, slicing nearby foes with a laser-blade, or blowing a few enemies to smithereens with a shotgun blast, you're going to have a great time. For starters, most weapons don't last very long as they'll only be good for a few shots or sword slashes so you'll find yourself constantly swapping out what you're holding. What makes SpiderHeck's gameplay even more frantic is its array of weaponry. Some of the enemies can be very tricky so surviving long will require a great deal of practice. It's quite an exciting game to control as once you get to grips with how to play, you'll find yourself skillfully manoeuvring around environments while taking out opposing forces like a pro. Meanwhile, you have the ability to shoot a web strand that can attach to any surface so you can navigate through the stage and avoid incoming attacks by flinging yourself out of harm's way. The core gameplay of SpiderHeck involves controlling a spider that can climb on walls and ceilings as you pick weapons up and utilize them to defeat enemies or other players in the versus mode.
